Transfer of Credit
Many incoming students have earned college credits at other schools or universities that may apply toward their chosen
degree program at the Academy.
Students who previously attended an accredited college or university may be granted transfer credit, at the sole discretion of the International Academy of Design & Technology, if the courses taken at the previous school are determined to be sufficiently equivalent to courses offered at the Academy.
Transfer of Credit Policies
The Academy
must determine that courses are applicable to their chosen program of study
at the Academy. Only courses for which the student earned a grade of C or above
will be considered for transfer.
Students seeking to transfer credit are responsible for:
- Having official transcripts forwarded to
the Academy
for review.
- Petitioning for transfer credit with the Registrar as soon
as possible after acceptance into the college.
Transfer credit will only be considered for coursework completed prior to the student's term start date at the Academy.
Academic Test Out Policy
Students who believe they possess superior proficiency in a subject that is taught
as part of their chosen program at the Academy may be eligible to take a test for
evaluating previous experience and receiving college credit. Tests lists are available
at the Registrar's office. Tests are not permitted for all courses and the Registrar
will only accept applications for tests that are listed.
A student's proficiency in a subject area may have been gained through training
experience, on-the-job learning, self-instruction or other means. Having extensive
experience in an area, however, does not guarantee that you possess the knowledge
to pass an examination. You are responsible for obtaining review material and preparing
for the test.
