Scholarship Awarded to "Fashion Forward" Design Contest Winner

Anna Romero creates a flirty, beaded dress to take the prize

Hoffman Estates, Ill., (June 2, 2009) – The International Academy of Design & Technology (the Academy) announced today that graduating high school senior, Anna Romero, the local winner for the Academy - Las Vegas, has been named the winner of its national fashion design contest. She and nine other high school seniors saw their original designs come to life on the IMAGINE 2009 runway in Chicago on May 21 in front of an audience of more than 1000 people. That evening, Romero’s name was announced as the recipient of a full-tuition scholarship (valued at more than $50,000) to attend the Academy in Las Vegas.

2009 Design Scholarship Challenge Announced

Aspiring graphic designs students compete for $25,000 tuition scholarship and a chance to work on a DC Comics marketing campaign

CHICAGO, IL, April 29, 2009 – Aspiring graphic designers have until June 8 to submit entries to the "2009 Design Scholarship Challenge" to compete for the national prize, an opportunity to work with DC Comics on an upcoming marketing campaign for "Absolute Justice" and a $25,000 tuition scholarship to one of the sponsoring design schools. Hopefuls should submit entries to one of the schools which are: the 11 International Academy of Design & Technology (Academy) campuses, located in Chicago, Detroit, Las Vegas, Online Campus, Orlando, Sacramento, San Antonio, Schaumburg (IL), Seattle, Nashville, and Tampa; as well as Brooks Institute, Brown College, Collins College, and Harrington College of Design.

Summer Studio 2009

Summer Studio is designed to give incoming high school juniors, seniors & recent graduates an opportunity to experience some introductory level classes in the career fields of their choice. Participants will spend three days with other creative students interacting and learning about the design fields of Digital Photography, Interior Design, Recording Arts, Fashion, Computer Animation, and Graphic Design.

  • Dates: Mon-Wed, June 15-17, 2009
  • Times: 9 AM – 5 PM Daily
  • Event Registration Fee: $100
  • Deadline to Register: May 29, 2009

International Academy of Design & Technology Attains CIDA Re-Accreditation for Interior Design Program

Tampa, Fla. (March 19, 2009) – The International Academy of Design & Technology-Tampa (the Academy) was notified this month that it has again been granted accreditation by the Council of Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) for its Interior Design (Bachelor of Fine Arts) degree program. This accreditation status has been continuously held since 1992. The Interior Design program was voluntarily placed before the scrutiny of CIDA to ensure that students receive an education that will serve them not only during their time at school but also prepare them for future professional growth. Students enrolled in an accredited interior design program can be confident that the program meets the quality standards recognized by the profession.

Time Dwindles for High School Seniors Seeking Fashion School Awards Scholarships

High school seniors with an eye for fashion have only until March 25 to submit entries to the "Fashion Forward 2009" design competition and earn the chance of winning a full scholarship to any one of the ten campuses of the International Academy of Design & Technology (the Academy). This contest is in association with Teen Vogue Magazine.

Imagine 2009 Fashion Show Features Student Talent

  • Tampa, Fla. – April 30, 2009

The International Academy of Design & Technology (the Academy) in Tampa will be presenting innovative fashion trends at Imagine 2009. Imagine 2009, the Academy's 24th annual fashion show, is a collaboration of many of the design programs and will feature a full technical production along with creations from more than 65 fashion design students. The event will take place on Thursday, April 30th at the A La Carte Pavilion.
