Meet the Faculty

Phil Bulone

Phil Bulone holds a MS in Interior Design from Florida State University. He also holds a BA in Psychology. He is a NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) certificate holder and a Florida Licensed Interior Designer.

His special focus is in hospitality design. Prior to joining the Interior Design Department at IADT-Tampa, Phil practiced design with design firms in South Florida, Atlanta and his native New York. He currently is involved with freelance design work through his Tampa-based company, studio 2b DESIGN GROUP, LLC. He is a professional member of IDEC (Interior Design Educator’s Council) and IIDA (International Interior Design Association) where he serves on the National Task Force for the IIDA Education Forum. He has also worked as an interior design adjunct faculty at Palm Beach Community College and Lynn University.

Phil has taught at the Academy since 2002. While at IADT-Tampa, Phil has received the following recognitions: Interior Design Excellence Award, President’s Leadership Award and a CEC Educator of the Year 2006 in the design category. He has a keen interest in academic travel, international studies and service learning.
